A Living Tradition of Anglo-Catholic Worship in Fort Myers

At St. Luke’s, we embrace the beauty, reverence, and richness of the Anglo-Catholic tradition within the Episcopal Church. As the historic Anglo-Catholic parish in the Fort Myers deanery of the Diocese of Southwest Florida, our roots run deep in the Oxford Movement.

Christ-Centered Worship

The Holy Eucharist is the heart of our parish life. We believe in the Real Presence of Christ in the Blessed Sacrament, and our worship centers on receiving Him in the communion of the faithful.

Each liturgy begins with the Liturgy of the Word, where Scripture and preaching prepare us to encounter Christ, the Word made flesh. Our worship is solemn and sacred, inviting all into a deeper communion with God.

Liturgical Beauty and Sacred Tradition

Our services follow the 1979 Book of Common Prayer, enriched with traditional Anglo-Catholic elements:

  • Incense and bells mark the holiness of the liturgy

  • Solemn processions with priests, deacons, and subdeacons

  • Chanted liturgies sung by both clergy and congregation

We uphold the beauty of sacramental worship as a visible sign of God’s grace in our lives.

Our Chapel – A Sacred Space for Healing and Prayer

Beyond our main sanctuary, our intimate chapel serves as a quiet space for weekday Masses and prayer. Currently, it hosts our Wednesday Healing Mass, with plans to expand weekday services in the near future.

A Catholic Heritage within the Anglican Communion

St. Luke’s offers devotional and liturgical practices drawn from our shared Catholic inheritance, including:

  • Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament during Evensong

  • Stations of the Cross during Lent

  • Chapel of Repose during Holy Week

  • Personal devotions such as the Rosary and the Ave Maria before and after Mass

Our life of prayer is both communal and personal, grounded in ancient tradition and alive in the present.
